Sell Your House Yourself? Its More Stress

have you ever considered selling your house yourself? Some people do it. It cuts out the estate agent fees but then adds a whole lot of stress on to you. How will you go about selling your home on your own? Well, some people have followed the following options:

  • Advertise in local paper - some people advertise in their local paper and get quite a good response. If you are prepared to try and take control of the financial side of things of selling your house yourself then this is a great option.

  • eBay - some people sell their homes on Internet auction site eBay. Indeed, this might seem like an odd choice, but it is a super way to attract interest and draw visitors. You have to pay eBay listing fees though and the higher the starting bid or buy it now price, the more costly the listing fees.

For me, i think it would be more stress if i was to sell my house myself, but each to their own. Its certainly something you can consider next time :)

Moving House Guide - Be Prepared!

Here's some tips for moving house: your essential moving house guide!

  • Pack carefully - make sure any valuable items are packed separately and you might feel happier transporting these yourself rather than have the removal men do this. You never know what can go missing.
  • Keep pets and kids out of it - they only get under your feet, so try and leave them with a relative on the day of the move so you can concentrate on getting stuff sorted.
  • Get your dates right - make sure you have all your moving dates right and write down an itinerary of the day's events so you know exactly what you're doing from the moment you wake up.

So, when moving house, everyone needs some guidance, and there are bound to be things that don't go to plan, but don't dwell on this and keep everything running as smooth as you can.

Costs of moving house...

There are mounting costs when moving house...from the estate agent fees to the removal costs - you have to pay out a lot.

The costs of moving house are actually putting people off from moving, especially in the current climate. Selling your property is harder than ever at the moment, and with all the extra costs you have, it really isnt a wise move at the moment.

So, if you want to know the costs of moving house, speak to an estate agent who will be able to advise you and i wouldnt be surprised if they steer you away from selling at the moment, because they cant even sell the properties they have on their books at the moment.

Location, Location, Location: The Importance When Moving House

If you're thinking of moving house, then lets remember that location is so important. There's even a well-known programme entitled "Location, ,Location, Location" which emphasises how important it is to find the right area to move to.

Bad areas can bring the value of your house down dramatically. If you see a lovely property for sale and then look at the price thinking it is too good to be true, it probably is...bad areas can mean the price drops significantly. NEVER move to a bad area just because of the house you like.

I think it is important to try and get a perspective in all of this. If you have children, then imagine them growing up in a bad, run down area with no local amenities for them. This is probably far from what you want. Therefore, location is crucial when considering moving house. Yes you might not have children now but what if you will have some down the line? Make a move that will benefit everyone.

Moving To France: Would You Ever Consider Moving Abroad?

More and more people are getting disillusioned with the UK and thinking of selling up and moving to France. I have heard many pros and cons for doing so, but it is personal choice at the end of the day.

I once worked with a lady who bought a run-down old building in the South of France and decided to renovate it over a period of years, then sell her own home and move over to France permanently. Unfortunately, it never happened for her, because her house in France got burnt down - suspiciously - 2 months before they were due to leave the UK and move to France. What an awful thing to happen.

I found a site that tells you why you SHOULDN'T move to France, and also why you SHOULD , so you can just make your own minds up.
